Age of Conan availible on steam.

Funcom’s dark fantasy MMO Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is now available on Steam at a discounted price of USD 44.99.

It’s the second MMO to be made available on Valve’s digital distribution platform, after everyone’s favourite space politics simulator, EVE Online.

You might want to wait for the 360 version – which Funcom is working on for a 2009 release instead.

EA cuts prices for Rock Band

EA has snipped the price of all versions of Rock Band to GBP 109.99 / EUR 139.99, ahead of the PS3, PS2 and Wii launch this Friday. Which is all rather sudden.

That, of course, is a saving of GBP 20 on the original Instrument Edition. The Rock Band game still needs to be bought separately for GBP 49.99 on PS3, 39.99 on Wii, or 29.99 on PS2.

Deus Ex 3

According to general manager Stéphane D’Astous, Deus Ex 3 has passed proof of concept and will be the inaugural project for the recently established Eidos Montreal studio. “This game was very highly rated at its release in 2000,” said D’Astous, “and we have this great huge mandate to do the third one, and everybody is very excited.”

We sincerely hope the team also plays great huge disappointment, Deus Ex: Invisible War, and brings the series into the current generation with aplomb. No specific platforms have been announced yet, but the studio intends to churn out “only major AAA games, using only next-gen technology.” As it’s adopting a 24-month development cycle for its initial titles, don’t expect more about the game until next year at the earliest. In the meantime, try to guess how many of the game’s fictional technologies will be explained away with nanobots. It’s always nanobots.

pro evolution soccer 2009

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced that it will release PES 2009 for PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360, PC-DVD, PlayStation®2, and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) this Autumn in Europe.

PES 2009 is the latest installment of the award-winning Pro Evolution Soccer Series, which is known by millions of fans for its superior gameplay and incredible realism. For PES 2009, Konami is already planning a raft of extensive new additions that will further bridge the gap between PES and the real thing. The new game has undergone a stunning graphical update to ensure its players look and move even more like their real-life counterparts. Similarly, all-new options allow users to tailor the game to their own tastes, while new moves, innovative new control elements and key online elements will further the realism of the new game.

“The announcement of a new PES game is always a highlight for Konami, but PES 2009 looks set to reaffirm the series’ utter superiority,” commented Jon Murphy, PES Project Leader for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “We are committed to extending the realism of the new game with a wealth of key gameplay additions, and will produce a football title that truly embodies all the skill and pace that is good about the modern game.”
