In a vibrant and elaborate environment, decisions will have to be made which will change not only the future of the Southern Islands, but of the entire world…

Deus Ex 3

According to general manager Stéphane D’Astous, Deus Ex 3 has passed proof of concept and will be the inaugural project for the recently established Eidos Montreal studio. “This game was very highly rated at its release in 2000,” said D’Astous, “and we have this great huge mandate to do the third one, and everybody is very excited.”

We sincerely hope the team also plays great huge disappointment, Deus Ex: Invisible War, and brings the series into the current generation with aplomb. No specific platforms have been announced yet, but the studio intends to churn out “only major AAA games, using only next-gen technology.” As it’s adopting a 24-month development cycle for its initial titles, don’t expect more about the game until next year at the earliest. In the meantime, try to guess how many of the game’s fictional technologies will be explained away with nanobots. It’s always nanobots.

New OddWorld on it’s way

The Cord Weekly reports (via Shacknews) that Maxis co-founder Jeff Braun announced his involvement in the creation of a new Oddworld game during a speech at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Braun didn’t have too much to say in terms of, well, just about anything tangible — gameplay, story, where it would fit in the Oddworld universe, etc. But he did do a lot of boasting about the technology being developed to make the game a reality, which he says will involve a “revolutionary” 3D animation system that will look as good as a CG movie. “The rendering tools are getting so good now for 3D animation that you can literally create a linear animation and create a video game using the exact same objects,” Braun said. “The tools are finally getting to the level where we can come out with a show and we can come up with a game.”

Braun also had compliments for the folks at Oddworld Inhabitants that he’s been working with. “They’re such a talented group of people and I really trust their ability to create compelling content,” he said. As for when this compelling content will see the light of day, Braun said it could be “years” before the game is finished. That probably explains why specific details were so light.

A 50 Cent game?!

Has the world gone crazy? What are they trying to do? create a sequel to the worst game ever made? The first one sucked and I’m pretty sure the second one will have the same lame story with better graphics…

Anyways the game will be released in the forth quarter of 2008 and a bunch of screenshots had already been posted all around the web.

For more info on 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand visit they official website.

OMG Thief 4!!!

Thief4
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the news this morning, everybody is talking about it, there are rumors about a new Thief game: Thief 4. No official news were ginven but I really hope those rumors are true, I’ve loved the Thief series, especially Thief 3 which is one of my alltime favorite game. There were several clues from which lead to the conclusion that there might be another Thief. Here is an interesting article I’ve got from http://www.gamespot.com:

Thief 4 infiltrating Eidos Montreal?

Source: Eidos Montreal hinted that the title for its next “AAA” project after the recently announced Deus Ex 3 will begin with a “T” on its official Web site (check the blurb on the bottom-right of the screen). That led to widespread speculation that the studio would be bringing back another Eidos-owned PC franchise with a cult following, Thief.

What we heard: “T” is for “tease.” As in, Eidos Montreal is a horrible tease for toying with true Thief fans’ emotions like this.

When one thinks of Eidos franchises beginning with the letter “T,” Tomb Raider is probably the first thing that comes to mind. But the next Tomb Raider game–Underworld–has already been unveiled, and is being developed by Crystal Dynamics. Underworld is also far enough out on the release schedule–fourth quarter of 2008–that it seems unlikely Eidos Montreal would already be gearing up for the follow-up.

That leaves Thief as the natural next choice, considering other Eidos-published “T” games like TimeSplitters and Thuderstrike: Operation Phoenix are either owned by other studios, or would be bizarre choices to bring back. Add into this that elsewhere on the Eidos Montreal site the studio says its first two games “will revive successful franchises” and the studio’s next project seems certain.

The official story: An Eidos representative said the company had no comment on the matter.

Bogus or not bogus?: Unless Eidos is full of sadists who enjoy dashing their customers’ hopes, this one is not bogus.

I really hope more news will be out soon, and I promise I’ll keep youall posted as soon as i hear something new.

Haze.

So everybody has been talking about this hot new game from Ubisoft, and I was looking around and found a bunch of really interesting stuff about it.

I checked out their official website and found out something about the game but it wasn’t anything solid enough, just some key features:

Impeccable FPS credentials:

from the developers of the critically-acclaimed TimeSplitters® series and the publishers of Far Cry® and Ghost Recon® Advanced Warfighter™. Free Radical and Ubisoft have proven their ability to create innovative platform-defining FPS titles.

Become a Mantel Trooper

and fight the merciless guerrillas of the Promise Hand with the most advanced gear, the fastest vehicles, the deadliest weapons – and Nectar, Mantel’s battlefield-optimized performance-enhancing medication.

Boost your fighting abilities with Nectar,

empowering Mantel troopers with fighting abilities such as Nectar Focus, Nectar Foresight, Nectar Perception and Melee Blast. Using these skills, troopers are able to detect and avoid imminent danger as well as deliver powerful attacks in close quarters.

Mature and compelling storyline.

A tightly integrated storyline makes Haze an immersive narrative experience as well as a cutting-edge shooter.

Cutting edge gaming technology

featuring the Disparity Rendering System™ shaping the players’ views of the world on and off Nectar. Haze also features an entirely streamed experience with no loading times between levels.

State of the art multiplayer modes.

Fire up your console for online battles and choose from a variety of online modes including furious 4 player co-op action!

The fun part is that it has multiplayer campaign mode and I find this really fun.The story isn’t that dull, it’s not another space cowboy shooting everybody up, it has a compelling story.

Too bad that the game has been announced as a PS3 exclusive, I would have loved a PC version.

The trailer from E3 looks great:
