Prototype

The story:

You are Alex Mercer, a shape-shifter with absolute mastery over your genetic structure, stalking the streets of New York City, searching for your past. Delve into a web of lies and rip the truth from those who’ve hidden it from the public for forty years. Learn that you are not alone in your amazing abilities; that other killers stalk the city.

A secret war is brewing in New York. First, battle below the media radar, then, watch as a deadly infection spirals out of control and the government seizes the media to stop the spread of information. Finally, experience New York under quarantine as martial law is instated; igniting a firestorm of combat, carnage and death.

Face an ever-growing army of infected — creatures warped and changed by the virus. As it spreads, more and more of New York falls under its control. The virus overwrites a creature’s existing genetics; warping and changing their form into something else, something planned. As the virus gathers its army, rush to discover the secret behind it all; the one thing that can stop it all before the city falls into ruin.

Against you is Project BLACKWATCH – an elite force of Army specialists ready to stop the spread of the virus at any cost. These operatives have seen it all before, and are eager to track you down and bring you in, dead or alive. Their mandate is complete containment; even if it means everyone in New York must die.

Struggle to define what you will be. Do you assist BLACKWATCH in its hunt, or join forces with the virus and subjugate humanity? Push your powers to the limit, and unlock the genetic shackles that hold you in check.

Discover what lies beyond the edge of evolution.

Warhammer Online

Warhammer Online Release Date

Warhammer Online Release Date.

The latest official news on the Warhammer Online release date is that it has been put back to Fall 2008. See below for the reasons in EA/Mythics own words.

On the day we signed the agreement to license Warhammer from Games Workshop, I promised them that we would create a great and glorious game, a truly next-generation MMORPG. Today, I have news to report; we are going to delay the release of WAR until Fall 2008. While we do not expect this announcement to be met with fanfare and cheering crowds; the additional time will be spent hammering WAR into an even better game that it is today.

During the most recent phase of beta testing, two things have become clear. One was that our key innovations – Public Quests, Tome of Knowledge and Realm vs. Realm combat – were all coming along very well, as was the first stage of our innovative crafting system. The second, that the game would benefit from additional iteration time as well as adding a layer of polish or two. Fortunately, as part of Electronic Arts, we are able to do just that.

While I have no doubt that the community will experience a wide range of emotions over this decision, I urge you to remember one thing (and to keep the tar cold and the feathers on the birds), that our goal has never been to release a game by a certain date but to release a great Warhammer MMORPG. We have not wavered from this goal and with the full support of Games Workshop and Electronic Arts we intend to release a glorious next-generation MMORPG.

As always, I thank the community for its support, patronage and its patience.

This Is Vegas

PS3,Xbox 360,PC
Release Date: Q4 2008

This is Vegas is the upcoming action game from Midway that drops you into a stylized version of Las Vegas and lets you live a virtual life. The game is being developed by Surreal Software, of The Suffering fame, and takes an open-world approach. While this may sound like a setup that’s been done to death (albeit not set exclusively in Vegas), Surreal’s going in a unique, ballsy direction with the game. Rather than try to outdo the cinematic take of the gold standard for the genre, Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto games, This is Vegas is taking a humorous, tongue-in-cheek approach. Surreal has tapped writer Jay Pinkerton, a former Cracked magazine editor, to help craft the game’s story. Surreal representatives say the result falls somewhere between Ocean’s Eleven and a Will Ferrell movie. As far as gameplay goes, we got a general overview and the chance to try out three short sequences from the game that gave us an idea of where it’s headed.

Dark Sector.

Genre: Sci-Fi Shooter
Release Date: Mar 25, 2008
Players: 1 Player + Multiplayer mode
Dark Sector certainly made a splash back in early 2004 when Digital Extremes unveiled it as the first game in development exclusively for next-gen hardware. Plenty of great-looking games have shipped since then, but Dark Sector looks as though it’s still holding its own, running on the company’s internally developed Sector engine. We were particularly impressed by the lighting effects–at one point Tenno walked by some boarded-up windows and we saw the light. There’s also some nice detail in the characters. For instance, when the player melee-killed one of those machete soldiers by snapping his neck, the attack actually knocked the guy’s mask upwards, and we were able to see his fully modeled face behind it.

Even after seeing the trailers I’m still not convinced of this games quality as I am really bored of space shooters and one man army fighting a bunch of aliens to save the day. The level of detail that this game has still impressed me the most,  at one point when the character snaps the neck of an NPC, his mask of that guy moves and you can clearly see the shape of his face, and this is just one of the many things that got me interested in this game.

It’s going to be released on PS 3 and xBox 360 on March 25, and with all the attention this game has got in the past few days, I saw a lot of people complaining about the poor story about the ninja the was dropped in space and after a radio active poisoning it got a metal arm with a magical glaive…when actually it’s not that bad, it’s about a CIA agent who was on a mission when he got infected with a virus, and mutated…who am I kidding, the story sucks! I am sooo bored of this kind of games – merciless, tough, immortal  marine killing aliens – but the game still is good as Digital Arts noticed that the gamers are also sick of playing space cowboy and instead of having an avergrown space suit(like Doom 3 or gears of war) it has la nice outfit and instead of having some huge weapons has the normal weapons (rifle had gun, shotgun) and that cool glaive.  The glaive, I think, it was an awesome concept, as it has all this cool feautres  you can guide it in a 1’st person mode and it can catch on fire or if you hit an electrical panel it gets elctrified and gives you a lot of options from where to chose when you wanna kill an opponent.

The gameplay it’s still up for debate because the game won’t come out for another week and before i actually play it I won’t make any statements in that area, but from the trailers I’ve seen, it looks pretty dull, hope thats not true. If the story will be similar to the graphics quality we won’t have any problems.
