Greenpeace calls for toxic-free consoles.

“Greenpeace has called on console manufacturers to use more environmentally friendly chemicals and components in the production of their hardware.

Having conducted a lab study of the Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the activist group is reporting hazardous chemicals and materials such aspolyvinyl chloride, phthalates, beryllium and bromine were detected.

The tests did show there has been some improvement, and that each manufacturer had avoided the use of individual hazardous substances in some instances. However, they also showed companies are still using some toxic materials unnecessarily.

“If manufacturers only looked at each other’s products, they’d quickly see ways of replacing their own dirty components with toxic-free materials,” The group said on its site.

“A greener, cleaner game console is possible. There’s no excuse for playing dirty.”

Greenpeace recently condemned Nintendo for coming bottom of the table in its guide to electronics, accusing the platform holder of failing to deal with its e-waste effectively and work under public eco-policies.”

A 360 and two hookers

This is one of the best news I’ve heard in a long time. A kid from Texas who was angry at his dad, who was a big hotshot lawyer and who didn’t threw him a birthday party, stole his credit card and went a shopping spree with his friends which were the same age as he was. He bought them food drinks, a bunch of gadgets an XBox 360,a motel room and ::drums:: 2 hookers. When the 2 hookers came to the apartament and saw the kids they wanted to leave but as dumb as they were, they believed the kids who told them they were, and I quote, “people of restricted growth working with a traveling circus” and they should get the same “services ” as anybody else. The hookers sat with the kids and played Halo 3 only for a couple of hours as the guy who delivered duzens of bags of Fritos, Dr. Pepper and Oreos saw something was wrong and called the authorities. The kid spent about 30 000 $ on the stuff he bought.

In the end, young Ralph Hardy, was sentenced to 3 years in the comunity service. His dad mumbled that he will take his son to Disneyland. Ralph also said that when he will growup he will be a politician.

What is the 360 made of?

Did you wonder what the xBox 360 is made of?Here is the exact system configuration. The hardware on this console is pretty amazing.

For this next-generation Xbox, Microsoft is not just building a great gaming system, but also a great entertainment platform.

One of the things that excites me the most about the Xbox 360 is its advanced hardware specs. Yes, yes, I know, Microsoft says that “in the HD Era the platform is bigger than the processor” and I agree with that, but I can’t help thinking about the things that this hardware will be able to pull off.

The Xbox 360 represents a technological breakthrough only possible because of the hard work of hundreds of masterminds around the world who converged to create the ultimate gaming machine. Unreal Engine 3-powered games running at 1280×720 with full screen anti-aliasing? Not a problem for the Xbox 360.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Another game worth mentioning is Rainbow Six Vegas 2, which is an only 360 game(I know, it sucks…) but still a mighty good one. The graphics are a lot better than the first one, and the gameplay is even better, plus you get a lot of new thing in the second Vegas, like sprinting.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 isn’t the best sequel ever made, but it’s still a great tactical shooter in its own right.

The Darkness

I recently stumbled upon a new awesome game: The Darkness from Take Two Interactive.

On his 21st birthday, the awesome and terrible powers of the Darkness awaken within Jackie Estacado, a mafia hitman for the Franchetti crime family. With his new powers, Jackie is able to wreak terrifying havoc on his enemies. Jackie must learn to fully command the Darkness so he can take back control of the Franchetti family, which is ruled by his uncle Paulie, a despicable man who is almost universally despised.

Features:

  • Based on the comic book “The Darkness”, created by Top Cow.
  • Game story written in collaboration with acclaimed “The Darkness” author, Paul Jenkins.
  • Experience extremely intense cinematic action in this gritty, first-person, action-adventure game with a horror twist: you are the horror!
  • Varying manifestations of the Darkness allow you to devour, impale or implode your enemies.
  • Cannibalize the corpses of your slain victims and transform them into Darklings – impish and hilarious demonites that commit unspeakable acts.
  • The absence of light feeds and replenishes the Darkness so seek the shadows wherever possible.
  • Fight your way through the dark and seedy underbelly of New York City as well as the ethereal realm of the Darkness.
  • Play as Darklings in online multiplayer games and face other players in traditional multiplayer modes as well as all-new innovative game modes.

Viking: Battle for Asgard

As Skarin, you must battle the gods of the Norse pantheon and their hordes of minions to save the mortal realm of Midgard and prevent Ragnarok.

Genre: Action
Release Date: Mar 25, 2008

Even since it was announced I loved this game, it had such high quality graphics and the fighting system was cool, even had the finish hit(when you knock out an enemy, you can finish him). But it is kind of linear, you just go from town to town killing dudes on the way, and even with the amazing graphics still get a little too boring.

Even the whole head chopping and hack ‘n slashing the game still has to prove that it can keep you playing for 13 hours, and unless his going to have a great story it will be like …Fall of liberty, which I really hoped to be a better  game…but thats a different subject.

Anyways, hope a PC version will be availible soon.
