Though EA may not be ready to talk about a Sims 3 at this point — after all, The Sims 2 is still in the prime of life — we have little reason to doubt a third title is in the works. Of course, the design work that the above companies would contribute usually comes early in the development process, meaning The Sims 3, if it’s in the works, is likely still years away.
We’ll get to see the Sims 3 probably by 2009 so everybody who has been talking about a sims 3 being released in 2008 was lying.

..or how about piling up objects? Currently, a newspaper and a phone can’t be on the same tile. ..but we all put phones on newspapers, don’t we? (or other objects)

The game comes out Januray 1, 2009 according to Amazon. I’m not sure how far that is true though.

I didn’t know Amazon was selling it…hmm…well, according to a lot of sites, it’s coming out Spring, 2009…maybe Amazon was right, though, and maybe the Sims people just don’t want us to get over excited about it…oh well…I still can’t wait for it!!!

Sims has been anounced only for the PC. I don’t think they will expand to any other platforms

Well, Sims 2 was released in September 2004 and the expansion packs usually followed with one in March/April and then one in October/November. So if Sims 3 is released in Spring 09 it will probably be in March/April with the first expansion following in October/November.
